March 7, 2017: Rhode Island's First Weight & Wellness Summit 

The Rhode Island Medical Society and the Rhode Island Health Center Associ­ation convened the state’s first Weight &Wellness Summit at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick on Tuesday, March 7.  The inspiration for this Summit was provided by the many indi­viduals and organizations who work to make daily habits of smart nutrition and healthy living convenient and afford-able for all Rhode Islanders. The focus was to showcase the diversity of local initiatives and provide an opportunity for like-minded people to learn and interact on the multifaceted topic of weight and wellness. The event was made possible through an edu­cational grant from the Coverys   Com­munity Healthcare Foundation, and partially sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island.
