March 7, 2017: Rhode Island's First Weight & Wellness Summit
The Rhode Island Medical Society and the Rhode Island Health Center Association convened the state’s first Weight &Wellness Summit at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick on Tuesday, March 7. The inspiration for this Summit was provided by the many individuals and organizations who work to make daily habits of smart nutrition and healthy living convenient and afford-able for all Rhode Islanders. The focus was to showcase the diversity of local initiatives and provide an opportunity for like-minded people to learn and interact on the multifaceted topic of weight and wellness. The event was made possible through an educational grant from the Coverys Community Healthcare Foundation, and partially sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island.
