Saturday, September 28, 2019 The Brown Human Rights Asylum Clinic (BHRAC)), in partnership with Physicians for Human Rights (PHR), invites you to our annual PHR Asylum Network Training on Saturday, September 28th, 2019. BHRAC collaborates with medical and mental health clinicians, lawyers, and community organizations to provide pro bono medical affidavits to individuals seeking legal status in the United States. We are looking for health care professionals to join our team of evaluators!
This training will provide an introduction to asylum law and teach healthcare providers how to conduct forensic evaluations and prepare medical affidavits for asylum seekers. Affidavits can document and corroborate the physical and psychological evidence of trauma alleged by asylum seekers, leading to better legal outcomes. The training is open to clinicians (MD or DO, including residents), psychologists (PsyD), LCSWs, NPs, and LMHCs.
